Mastery Minute: 5 Tips for Knitting Cables
this is hands-down the BEST tutorial on the internet for a one row buttonhole. I love that you explained how to avoid creating holes, why you twisted stitches as you did the cabled cast-on (as well as how to actually DO the cabled cast on). Really valuable video!
Wow! This is freaking wonderful! I love making socks and I love making them with lots of different colored irregular rows so there are always so many tie ins at the ends of all the rows. This is so great. I will love this. Thank you so much!!
Mind Blown! 🤯
Everyone finds the way I taught by my grandmother to knit as I am left handed I pick up stitches with the left and hold my yarn in left also this means my pearl goes in the front left needle into the loop to right downward and lefts it over to the left when I knit stitch I go in front front to back in an upward with left needle picking stitch up from the right so I have no idea what thos method would be called at all in the slightest to knit I pick up the stitch lay over back to front pull needle down amd stitch over to the left 😂 😂 but our family tree is a smorgesboard east to west meets old romana meets European Irish amd Welsh so it could just he a combination of sorts that has been passed down the ages I do however find it extreemly quick amd means the tension is always perfect
Can I use regular sock yarn or does it have to be the cotton & bamboo blend? I have tons of the Merino & Rayon and other blends as well. I bought the pattern and would like to start knitting them as soon as possible. Thanks, Gina
As always, a very clear and simple explanation. Thank you.
Love the way you have explained this technique 🤎 especially putting the locking stitch marker on the first two stitches Brilliant thank you 🙏
Excelente! El mejor tutorial para levantar los puntos de las mangas. Muy bien explicado! Muchas gracias!
this is my favorite tutorial for handling the underarm gap stitches, I come back to it every time!
Im still a bit of a beginner knitter & Ive got so many diff ones ive tried, the bent, the hook, one thats a spiral, ive even used a small stitch holder/marker. I also found holding the CN in front really awkward BUT i found a solution! Knitpro has a set of yarn needles that come in a wee round wooden holder (i think theyre from the "mindful" set/series from memory) & theyre far too big to use for weaving in ends imo so i used the wee wooden holder for my other yarn needles but put the knitpro needles away. Then one day i saw a video of someone using a plastic yarn needle as her CN & figured the bigger wooden yarn needles could be the perfect length & thickness for a cable needle & they are! I slip my sts onto the needle (theres 3 or 4 in the set & all diff thicknesses) and to stop the CN getting in the way i stab it thru my project! It holds it out of the way and also stops any sts falling off! PS - So if ur looking at ur project from the front, holding at this ---------- angle, you put it into the yarn on this | angle I guess you could say the knitting/needles are the top of a T & the new CN when stabbed into the knitting is the stalk of the T - so 90 degrees i guess?!?!
This is how i start 99% of my knit projects. I dont put the yarn between the needle & hook tho, i go around both - both ways look great its just my preference. Its a fab way to cast on if you have issues with ur tension (esp as a beginner knitter) & i find it makes my knitting much, much tidier looking then doing a long tail cast on plus ur tension is even. Also, instead of putting that last stitch from ur hook onto ur needle, chain 1 & then put THAT st onto ur needle - itll fix that last st from being a bit slanted & not as straight or tidy as ur st at the other end (ur 1st st).
Im absolutely GOBSMACKED at the talent that some of you advanced knitters have! Your skills are so fascinating to watch!! Im still learning (im a crocheter whos been learning to knit for 6 months) and found ur channel when looking for tutorials on twin stitches. I enjoyed ur twin sts tutorial so much i thought id have a look around on ur channel n have a bit of a Chilly Dog binge!! I love ur tutorials & find the way you explain, & also show what ur doing, really easy to understand. So you have a new sub and fan here!!
Best video ever! I always come back to watch it while doing italian bind of. The best advice/hint is "on top of a knit/purl column".
Why are you so tight? It’s causing you to struggle getting your crochet stitches through the hook.
Very confusing...I wished you did more of the heel...
Thank you for the precise instructions and demonstration without all the unnecessary chatter. It is less distracting so I can focus on the technique. I appreciate that!
Great tutorial! Just did my first buttonholes and they turned out great. Thank you.
Thank you for a very clesr demonstration. It looks so easy!
Very timely! This video pushed through to me just as I was finishing my decreases and was about to be ready to start the foot band on my first Entwinement sock. I definitely wanted to use the stacked diamonds design for the band and this explained very clearly and concisely how to do it. Thank you!
Learned twining with this pattern! So glad you have this video to help too!
Thank you for showing continental style. I really like this variation, and although I am relatively new to knitting, your demo made sense to me. Thank you
Hi I like that you show this technic close up and slow.😊
Are there instructions/video anywhere for doing the triangular gusset portion of this sock hee?
Can’t wait to give it a go!
Best ever great tutorial with easy memory hints thank you so very much
Thank you. You have explained very clearly how to do the unpicking of plain and pearl stitches when a mistake is made. Very slowly and distinctly explained. God bless you for your patience 🙏
Great demo! Thanks.
Game changer! Thanks so much for the great tutorial!
Wouldn't picking up and knitting just one leg make the area weaker when worn?
